Short-term film makers to produce an animated video for Oxfam in Vietnam
Time frame: December 2019 - January 2020
Project title: Animation video for Oxfam in Vietnam 2020
1. Background
Oxfam is a global movement of people who are fighting inequality to beat poverty together. As a confederation of 20 Oxfam organizations in more than 90 countries, we tackle the inequalities that make and keep people poor.
In Vietnam, Oxfam is one of the leading international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), especially in rural development, disaster risk reduction and humanitarian response, civil society development, ethnic minorities, and women’s empowerment. We work to seek transformative changes in policies, practices and beliefs in ways that will
fundamentally improve the lives of poor and marginalized women and men, and ensure that all citizens have the same opportunity to enjoy their rights.
To conclude the past five years, Oxfam in Vietnam (OiV) wants to make a video that highlights our achievements throughout the 5 years.
2. Purpose of the Assignment
Objective: To produce 1 animation video that summarizes & highlights the activities &
achievements of OiV during 2015-2019. The video needs to pay gratitude to those who
accompanied & supported OiV during the period. Finally, the video encourages viewers
to join hands with OiV for a Vietnam where development and equality are ensured for
everyone.
3. Scope of work
General requirements (detailed requirements will be discussed later with selected
consultants): The final product needs to meet the following requirements in
terms of content (story) and techniques.
Task: Animation film-making
Story (Major questions to answer): Cover OiV highlight activities and achievements in 4 Programs: Good Governance, Gender Equality, Disaster Resilience, and Sustainable Livelihoods.
Note: All video footages, including images, infographics, music must be licensed or license-free
Technical requirements: Maximum 90-second animated video in HD quality:
- 01 version with Vietnamese text
- 01 version with English text
- No voice-over
- Font and color patterns must match Oxfam’s brand guidelines.
- The graphics must be presented in a joyful, optimistic, positive manner that look to a hopeful future.
Final submission must be before 20/01/2020 at the latest
4. Management
The Communication team of Oxfam in Vietnam will be responsible for the overall
management of this consultancy assignment. Designated staff from the Communication
team will be working closely with the consultant during the time.
5. Requirements
- Strong profile and experience in videography, especially animation/animated videos;
- Basic knowledge on development work and relevant issues, especially on women’s economic empowerment/gender in value chains, would be a strong advantage;
- Skills and experience in working with local authorities and communities in remote areas, especially ethnic minority groups and women.
