We are looking for a local qualified candidate to fill the following position at our office in Hanoi, Vietnam:
SPECIAL INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS & DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT
- Duty station: Hanoi, Vietnam

II. POSITION PROFILE
The Special International Relations & Development Assistant will be responsible for supporting the senior management and President through a combination of project management, writing and editing, research, and high level administrative and relationship support functions. She/He will coordinate special projects, compile information, and complete complex reports and analysis. She/He will work independently and with senior management, interfacing with external stakeholders including senior representatives of government agencies and private sector companies and donors. High level English is imperative.
III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage internal and external special projects in coordination with other departments and/or organizations on behalf of the President including AA Vietnam, FIA Region II and AIP Foundation.
- Research and prepare materials, policy briefings, talking points, speech drafts or presentations and proposals on a variety of workforce development matters for key internal or external audiences.
- Attend Chamber of Commerce meetings from the 24 chambers operating in Vietnam and assist in fundraising and disseminating funding proposals.
- Draft and edit various documents including internal/external correspondence. Create and maintain files, review drafts and finished documents for accuracy, spelling and grammar, including documents of a sensitive or confidential nature.
- Participate in meetings, task forces and workgroups both internally and externally on behalf of the President.
- Make high level contacts of a complex nature inside and outside of the organization.
- Ability to interact with persons of all backgrounds, cultures and affiliations within various levels of government, business and/or non-profit entities.
- Support other Partnership team members, particularly executive-level staff as necessary.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the President.
IV. REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from university and equivalent experience in a large non-profit or public or private sector organization supporting an executive-level team.
- Significant Project Management experience on behalf of senior executive is essential.
- Superior research, analytical, planning, organizational skills, and detail-orientation are important.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills is imperative.
- Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and use initiative.
- Capable to ensure deadlines are met and priorities kept.
- Ability to act as resource for other staff.
- Bilingual ability (English & Vietnamese).
- Study abroad experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
- Extensive knowledge of project management;
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills;
- Editing and proofreading skills are essential;
- Strong communication skills; ability to exercise diplomacy, gather information from others, make inquiries and synthesize information; ability to convey information and explain or discuss organizational policy and procedure with others in person or by telephone;
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks at one time and perform well under pressure;
- This position may require traveling to work assignments, including diplomatic and/or Chamber of Commerce functions.
