Technical Expert (Evergreen Labs)

TERM OF REFERENCE (TOR) & JOB DESCRIPTION OF TECHNICAL EXPERT

1. JOB DETAILS:

Technical Expert, Report to HealthyFarm Manager, Evergreen Labs.

2. JOB PURPOSE:

Support laying hen farmers to change from caged farming to cage-free or maintain an efficient and humane free-range or cage-free egg production.

3.  JOB DESCRIPTION:

Workload:

• Estimated number of working hours is 120 from March 2023 to May 2024
• The average number of working hours varies based on the needs of our farm partner.

Work Scope:

• Activity 1: Support one farm in Hanoi to set up their cage-free farm based on the standards from Certified Humane through online/ phone call support & farm visits required (one to two days) including helping connect or recommend relevant resources.
  • Deliverable 1: Provide consultancy and guidance to one farm to ensure the setup and installation is according to and compliant with the Certified Humane standards including farm improvement support post-audit (estimated 60 hours including submission of monthly status farm report - template will be provided).
• Activity 2: Provide consultancy to ad hoc problems to the cage-free farm in the North and 3-4 farms in our network through online/ phone call support.
  • Deliverable 2: All the problems mentioned by farmers in our network are investigated and recorded in a short report(estimated 60 hours).

4. JOB COMPENSATION

Total payment: $2500 (including Personal Income Tax of 10% and traveling expenses incurred for the farm visit to Hanoi. There are two payment dates:

• 50% of total amount: upon the approval of submitted deliverable 1 by the end of September 2023
• 50% of total amount: upon the approval of submitted deliverable 2 by the end of May 2024

5. JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Qualification: Livestock Veterinarian Degree
• Experience: Minimum 05 years of experience in laying hen field and 2 years of experience in humane chicken farming or the standard of Certified Humane. Preferably able to communicate in English
• Age limit: Not more than 55 years on the last date of receipt of the application.
