Background

As a federal enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. The project “Improved water cycle systems for sustainable fisheries production in aquaculture” (i4Ag) under the Fund for the Promotion of Innovation in Agriculture (2021-2026) is commissioned by Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), i4Ag project is funded by the governments of Viet Nam and Germany and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The i4Ag aims to test innovations that have the potential to make local value chains more efficient and sustainable in order to increase incomes, secure jobs and improve environmental sustainability. The project target groups are smallholder farmers and food processors, multipliers such as international cooperation projects, companies, public organizations and research institutions who apply lessons learned from innovation partnerships.

Main activities:

  • Provide content preparation and design for project communications materials (e.g. leaflets, brochures, flyers, factsheets, presentations, video clips, technical reports, and others).
  • Support project team in writing success stories, posting in social media (GIZ Facebook, YouTube), etc.
  • Support project team for developing short stories on project activities and achievements.
  • Support for developing the knowledge management system in order to share the project outcomes, reports and other initiatives to different target groups.
  • Assist in preparation for training, workshops, and field trips.
  • Assist project team in implementing technical activities.
  • Network with partners and stakeholders to promote i4Ag image and inclusion.
  • Assist in translating documents and verifying translations (Vietnamese/English).
  • Perform other duties and tasks at the request of management.

Requirements:

  • Vietnamese citizen, currently undertaking at final year student or recently completed within 6 months a bachelor/master study in related fields of study.
  • Proficiency in using graphic design and/or film editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Lightroom, and others is necessary.
  • Familiarity with social media, communication, and new digital tools is required.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • Knowledgeable about agriculture, environment, and natural resources.
  • Technical knowledge of aquaculture/shrimp farming is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Vietnamese are essential.
  • Willingness to take on responsibility and travel to project sites for work, if necessary.
