Duties
The incumbent reports directly to the Travel Supervisor to form the Travel Office. The incumbent coordinates with Consulate Control Officers and visit counterparts to identify and execute the logistical phases of each visit. Responsibilities include visa approval paperwork, airport expediting, ARIBA requests for purchases, motorpool requests, hotel reservations, cost estimates, Control Room staffing, and other duties as assigned. The Travel Office will make in-country and international travel and accommodation arrangements for VIPs, CODELs, STAFFDELs, and other official Consulate visitors. As needed, the incumbent will arrange transportation needs, sightseeing tours, and shopping excursions, even acting as a personal guide. The incumbent develops relationships with hotels for special services, including, but not limited to room requests, late check-outs or early check-ins, meeting spaces for high-level visits, or receptions. The incumbent serves as the primary back up to the Travel Supervisor during their absence.

EXPERIENCE: Two years of work experience in the travel or hospitality field is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Excellent understanding of local travel market, including airlines, hotels, and local tour companies.

The job holder must have excellent communication and organizational skills. This is a customer service position; the incumbent is expected to provide expedient, friendly, and professional service to Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City clients and D.C. counterparts.
The job holder must be customer-service oriented and be able to deal tactfully and effectively in English and Vietnamese with a variety of local and overseas vendors and U.S. citizen clients. Must have exceptional interpersonal skills. Must have basic MS Office skills and intermediate Internet searching capabilities. Basic math skills are important.

Locally Employed Staff working at the U.S. Mission in Vietnam will receive the following allowances and benefits in addition to the annual basic salary listed above.
Allowances:
- Unique Conditions of Work Allowance: 7% of Annual basic salary (subject to review every two years).
- Miscellaneous Benefits Allowance: US$1,000 per annum for FSN-09 and below, and US$3,000 per annum for FSN-10 and above.
