Duties
The incumbent will supervise one Travel Assistant to form the Travel Office. The incumbent ensures that U.S. government (USG) travel regulations are followed while overseeing all travel arrangements for Consulate personnel and visitors, including the arrangement of travel orders, air tickets, hotels, and other travel related needs. The incumbent also monitors and supervises the on-site travel contractor to ensure compliance with USG travel rules, regulations, and entitlements. The incumbent will be responsible for market research to obtain the best negotiated rates for all travel related needs, file yearly mandated reports, and provide customers with Information, and in certain cases, assist with obtaining third country visas. The incumbent will also assist the Travel Assistant in planning and coordinating VIP visits.
The incumbent reports directly to the General Services Officer (GSO) responsible for the travel portfolio. This is a customer service position; the incumbent is expected to provide expedient. friendly and professional service to the Consulate General Ho Chi Minh Citv clients.
