The Embassy of Denmark is part of the Danish Foreign Service. The Embassy covers Vietnam and  Laos. The Embassy is an ambitious, high-paced and dynamic workplace with approximately 40  employees. For more information about the Embassy, see www.vietnam.um.dk.  

The Embassy is inviting qualified candidates to apply for a position as Visa & Consular Assistant to  support the Embassy’s Consular section.  

Main tasks and responsibilities  

The Visa & Consular assistant will be responsible for all functions associated with visa and  residence/work permit applications (Denmark, Iceland, Lithuania, Greenland, Faroe Islands) such  as data entry, visa printing, document pass-back, interviews etc. She/he will handle Danish  passport applications and legalization service.  

In addition, she/he will assist with consular assistance to Danish citizens and handles tasks related  to consular cases.  

Requirements  

Experience: At least one year of administrative and customer service experience, or other related  work in the visa & consular field.  

Language: Fluency in Speaking/Reading/Writing Vietnamese and English is required 

Educational requirements: University studies is required 

Skills and abilities:  

  • Deal with customers in a professional and courteous manner, and to work under pressure. 
  • Advanced keyboarding and data entry skills  
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and other common software applications  and social media/internet platforms.
  • Ability to translate/interpret professionally English to Vietnamese and vice versa.  ∙ Excellent organizational, coordination and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work independently with strong sense of responsibility and detail orientation
  • Experience from working in international environment is a plus

General provisions  

  • Working hours will be 40 hours per week including lunch break. Employment is on a local  contract and based on the relevant legally binding local labour market rules of Vietnam.  Salary in accordance with qualifications according to individual agreement. 
  • 20 days annual leave for a fully worked year.  
  • Employees are expected to demonstrate the flexibility required to obtain the most optimal  handling of the Embassy’s portfolio. Particularly during vacation times, illness and vacancies  such flexibility may be required.
