This is a full-time Research Project Coordinator position for the VINCohort Study which is a collaboration between VinUniversity and Vinmec Hospital System. The VINCohort Study vision is to inform prevention and treatment of major chronic diseases impacting the Vietnam population. The VINCohort Study will be the first comprehensive longitudinal study to investigate the contribution of lifestyle, environment, genetics, and biomarkers to health outcomes in Vietnam. The cohort will also evaluate effectiveness of current procedures and treatments and serve as the starting point for intervention studies to test new approaches to disease prevention and treatment.
The VINCohort Study Project Coordinator, together with the VinUni PI, will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating all aspects of the research and data management needs, including abstraction, management, cataloguing and analyses of currently available employee medical record data from multiple hospitals; recruitment, scheduling and interviewing of new study participants; collection of new data via electronic questionnaires; data monitoring; tracking participant and study progress; quality assurance; human subjects approval applications; budget management; and providing general day to day administrative support to project field activities involving multidisciplinary teams of colleagues, sponsors and project stakeholders. The Project Coordinator will also assist with the development of study protocols, materials and assessment methodologies. Additional activities may include assisting with the preparation of manuscripts and scientific presentations.
The position requires working with other university and hospital VINCohort PIs and research staff (including IT) to facilitate research collaboration, handle administrative tasks (including but not limited to purchase requisitions, petty cash, invoices etc.) and ensure that all processes, protocols and procedures are quality controlled. The project coordinator will meet with the Study PI and other key personnel on a regular basis to discuss the status of the project, prepare reports (both quarterly and final), and attend to other duties as prescribed by the PI.

A Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of experience conducting large scale human research is the minimum qualification, with a preference towards degrees in health sciences, social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, medical anthropology), or public health.
