Job Details

The Women’s Entrepreneurship Officer is responsible for executing projects and initiatives that aim to empower women entrepreneurs. The position will work closely with the Women’s Entrepreneurship Specialist to offer tailored assistance to women who lead micro and small businesses, aligning with CVN’s priority on Women’s Economic Justice. This position will also provide critical support in establishing and maintaining a network of women entrepreneurs already associated with CARE. The position will be responsible for developing alliances with women’s business associations, business development service providers, incubators & accelerators, government partners, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Location: based in Hanoi and may require travel to other project sites.
  • Contract Type: This is full-time 1 year contract, and will be renewed upon mutual agreement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capacity Building: Work with partners, service providers & other relevant stakeholders to provide tailored training/skills building programs targeting women-led micro and small enterprises (MSEs). This will include conducting training need assessments, recruiting trainees, designing and delivering training curriculum, and providing mentoring and coaching support.
  • Network Building: Connect women-led MSEs to entrepreneurship networks, allowing them to learn from each other and access r resources and opportunities for business growth. This includes but is not limited to capacity building, investment, mentorship, market access, and finance.
  • Approaches and Tools Development: Develop useful tools, approaches, and methodologies based on practical experience to support women entrepreneurs, in line with CVN’s priority on Women’s Economic Justice, particularly for women-led MSEs.
  • Program Quality: Implement metrics and targets to measure the individual achievements of women entrepreneurs. Conduct field visits to monitor project performance and collect relevant information to track progress, capture learning, and propose necessary adjustments.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in economics/entrepreneurship/finance/business administration;
  • At least 3 years of experience in technical disciplines such as women entrepreneurship, business incubation and acceleration, capacity building, business mentoring, business community building, market access, economic growth, and/or other relevant areas;
  • Proven experience of working with women-led MSEs and women business networks;
  • Experience in coordinating and/or leading capacity building, training, and mentorship for women-led MSMEs;
  • Experience in fostering connections with resources and opportunities, improving access to finance and investment for women to grow their businesses is preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated understanding and practices of gender equality and women’s empowerment;
  • Demonstrated commitment to Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Harassment, and Abuse (PSHEA);
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication skills in English and Vietnamese as well as presentation skills; and
  • Fully conversant in Microsoft Office and numeracy skills.
