Who we are
Worldwide Orphans (WWO) was established in 1997 by Dr. Jane Aronson, a global pediatric specialist. In the past two decades WWO has been providing support and interventions to more than 80,000 orphans, children and youth in adversity and 30,000 adults in 6 countries: Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Haiti, Serbia, Vietnam and the US.
WWO helps transform the lives of vulnerable children, families, and communities through trauma-informed, evidence-based programming.
We work to address the unique needs and strengths of children, families and communities in each country, adapting our early childhood education, skills development, and camp programs, to meet their identified needs.
In 2019, WWO served more than 8,000 children and caregivers in Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Haiti, the United States, and Vietnam.
Our innovative programs break down social stigma and build critical life skills for children to thrive. When children learn to overcome challenges, they make tremendous progress in becoming strong, successful adults.
WWO in Vietnam
Since 2004, WWO established presence in the country and is now in the top 3% of government ranking of Non-profit Organizations.
We work in partnership with more than 30 institutions and schools in 11 cities and provinces of Vietnam via the leadership of PACCOM and the provincial People’s Committees.
Vision
We have a vision that by 2030, every child and youth in Vietnam will have access to effective care and relevant opportunities for them to grow, learn, thrive, lead a productive life and pay it forward.
