Within the Sustainable Economic Development priority area, GIZ supports Viet Nam in fostering a greener, inclusive and digital economic growth with the focus on three key areas: Inclusive Economic policy and Legal advice, Sustainable Finance and Digital/Private Sector Development.
The Macroeconomic Reform/Environmentally and Socially Sustainable Growth Program provides technical assistance to its core partners including Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, State Bank of Vietnam and Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) to promote better management of public and private resources for inclusive green growth in Vietnam. In the cooperation with MoLISA, the Social Inclusion Component of the Program is pursuing the goal of enhancing the successful integration of social dimension and gender equality into the implementation of national strategies in green growth, climate change response and sustainable development in Vietnam.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support the Macro/Social Inclusion team in selected operational tasks, including technical analyses, workshops, webinars/events and knowledge management.
  • Support on liaison, coordination, communication and networking with the project’s key stakeholders
  • Support the development of the project and the component’s reports, M&E and knowledge management.
  • Translate documents (English - Vietnamese, Vietnamese - English), assume interpretation tasks at meetings and other tasks if required.
  • Substitute other team members and provide ad-hoc support for relevant cross-cutting tasks at the program/cluster level when required.

Minimum requirements:

  • A university degree in public policy, development economics, law, social development or related fields. Post-graduate qualification is an advantage.
  • At least two years of professional working experience in the international development context.
  • Understanding of Vietnam’s policy making and stakeholder engagement process in Vietnam, especially in the areas related to socio-economic sustainable development, climate change and/or just transition.
  • Experience in involving directly in a stage of theproject cycle, especially in development or climate change field, is an asset.
  • Experience in working with ministries and provincial governments, especially MoLISA and/or governance bodies in the social and economic development, environment and climate change sectors, is a strong asset.
  • Strong MS Office, organizational and analytical skills, highly motivated to learn, and willing to take on responsibility.
  • Very good verbal and written English language skills.
  • Knowledge of German language and organizations in addition would be an advantage.
