RECRUITMENT FOR OPERATION OFFICER

Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization that plans, implements and raises funds for the provision of services in child education, community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects currently working in 42 countries.

Good Neighbors International in Vietnam (GNI) is implementing Community Development Projects (CDP) based on child sponsorship in 4 provinces: Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa. We focus on education, water & sanitation, income generation sectors in 6 different areas of Vietnam.

Reports to: Project Manager, OD Officers/ Team Leader/ Junior Manager in Head Office

1. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Country Director, Junior Manager/Officers , Project Managers, Project Manager/Officers

External: GNI’s Partners, Governmental Officials, INGOs, Communities

2. MAIN DUTIES

1. Child education:

  • Conduct survey on current status, learning and teaching conditions at kindergarten, primary school, secondary school in the locale to determine the need of schools for support of facility, capacity development;
  • Coordinate with schools, Community Development Center (CDC) to prepare proposal and implement supporting activities tailored to the need of schools;
  • Develop and implement activities of Child education and protection program
  • Regularly monitor, supervise, facilitate and report activities of Child education and protection program.
  • Introduce and develop education-related programs in the locale.

2. Community development:

  • Survey, study economic, social conditions, development issues and resources in the locale; design appropriate development programs;
  • Coordinate with CDC to carry out development activities in the village/commune;
  • Consult, support villages/hamlets to prepare their development program in the sectors of culture, education, health, water and sanitation;
  • Coordinate with village/hamlet, CDC to prepare proposal for development activities;
  • Coordinate with relevant parties to implement approved community development activities to ensure they meet the schedule and quality;
  • Directly and regularly monitor, inspect, promote implementation of project activities in the village, hamlet and commune;
  • Provide technical consultation for school, club, village/hamlet, CDC when needed to promote program’s efficiency; provide timely support to tackle difficulties of relevant parties when implementing activities;
  • Strengthen relationship between GNI and partners; promote participation of community members and relevant local authorities in community development;
  • Take responsibility for quality and schedule of above-mentioned activities in the locale;
  • Conduct regular assessment on efficiency of education and community development activities;

3. Other works:

  • Be involved in preparation of Plan of Action (POA) within scope of assigned sector;
  • Guide and ensure partners, participants follow up working principle of GNI during implementation of activities;
  • Collaborate with other divisions for effective implementation of activities;
  • Take responsibility for project disbursement progress of assigned sectors.
  • Carry out other project-related works when requested by Project Manager.

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education

  • College or University degree in Social Work, Community Development and other related fields.

Work experience

  • Minimum 1 year of similar role;
  • Have experiences and skills in making plan and implementing activity

Skills

  • Work in group or work independently;
  • Good communication and presentation skill;
  • Able to work under high pressure;
  • Prefer candidate with good computer skill and English

Attitude

  • Enthusiastic in work;
  • Friendly, honest and hard-working;
  • Eager to learn
