Job Summary: Provides technical assistance and support to the COVID-19 Prevention Network (CoVPN). Liaises with COVPN partners including pharmaceutical partners.Collects, compiles, and analyzes information relevant to monitoring project status for all studies including clinical progress at clinical research sites and tracking project milestones. Monitors completion of research studies with a focus on budget, scope, regulatory and schedule requirements. Maintains electronic dashboards for tracking study progress, prepares presentations, and supports other related deliverables to monitor and report on study progress. Staff within the Science Facilitation Department of FHI 360 serve as the Operations Center (OC) for the US National Institutes of Health (NIH)-sponsored CoVPN. The OC is responsible for contributing to and supporting the development, implementation and reporting of CoVPN clinical trials and for providing coordination, communications, and support to the CoVPN leadership. Staff from the LOC work closely with CoVPN staff from the statistical and data management support center(s), laboratory support center(s), NIH, pharmaceutical partners, study teams, clinical research sites and their community programs on various aspects of the CoVPN scientific research agenda. Accountabilities:
  • Tracks study progress for the portfolio of Network studies from concept approval through results dissemination. Provides support to Network leadership such as troubleshooting and monitors research activities.
  • Supports research teams administratively and technically to provide high quality deliverables to Network leadership.
  • Tracks performance against Financial Cost Objective (FCO) ID, project timelines, budget, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Facilitates communication by answering partner inquires.
  • May provide administrative support to Network as needed by writing, reviewing, and translating reports on a quarterly basis.
  • Provides technical assistance and support to Network.
  • Documents and shares project accomplishments, challenges, and lessons learned among internal and external partners.
  • Serves as the liaison for internal units, such as finance, contracts, centers, etc.
  • Supports Network teams administratively and technically to provide high quality deliverables to clients.

Supervision Given/Received:
  • Receives little instruction on routine work. Receives methods and procedures on new projects or assignments.

  • Typically reports to an Associate Director/ Director.
Education:
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent • Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Environment, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences International Development, Human Development or Related Field.
  • Project Management (PM) Certification preferred.
Experience:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5-8 years’ experience with project management, a blend of pharmaceutical industry/ contract research organization and US Government rules and regulations.
  • Articulate and professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive fashion with clients and staff.
  • Substantial experience in project management software such as Power BI, MS Project, etc.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English; fluent in host country language as appropriate.
  • Prior team lead experience preferred.
  • Prior work experience in a contract research organization or pharmaceutical industry
Typical Physical Demands:
  • Typical office environment. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift 5-50 lbs.

Travel Requirements:
  • 5%-10%
